About Me

My name’s Véro, I’m 26 and I live just outside Cambridge, UK. I’ve been living in the UK on/off since 2001. Brits tell me I’ve done it the wrong way around and they’d rather be in Canada than here, but isn’t the grass always greener across the pond?

Described as cheeky and irreverent, I write about technology, gadgets, marketing, often trying to scratch the slick surface of someone’s latest glitzy campaign like one might scratch their iPod by putting it in the same pocket as a set of keys.

Blogging since 2000 (when did it stop being an online diary and become a blog?), I’m now writing for Taptu, a new mobile search engine startup in Cambridge, by day. By night, I can be found working with my husband on our own digital agency, pepsmedia, blogging here or mixing up a killer cocktail in the kitchen.

Where you can find me

  • Email: vero@ this site’s domain name
  • Skype and Jaiku: thatcanadiangirl
  • Twitter: vero (long story…)
  • MSN/GChat/Jabber/IRC: drop me an email and I’ll let you know what my name is on any of those. I’ve had to remove them after too many marriage proposals from Indian men, sorry!
  • My LinkedIn profile: Please don’t make me use it. It may be owned by Murdoch anytime now.

Some of my older (now deserted) blogs:

  • thatcanadiangeek: I wrote about online marketing, social networks and the challenges of starting up your own business.
  • Focus On Them: A bit of a short-lived project, again blogging about own business stuff.
  • Sugar and Spice: I dropped this site two years ago, but really did enjoy blogging about food. I might have to revive this one sometime soon.
  • My shitty short lived Vox blog

[Disclaimer: As you’d expect, all views and opinions expressed on this site are just me talking rubbish, whinging, bitching, and so on. My (past, current or future) employer may not agree with any of it. But it’s all in the spirit of good debate and discussion, isn’t it?

I suggest you take every post with a sprinkle of salt, a slice of lemon and a shot of tequila. It makes my blog a lot more bearable.]
